Psychological thrillers are my favorite genre, and I’m also nostalgically drawn to all Swedish fiction, so this book seems like a double win for me. Taking a more objective stance, I enjoyed the multiple points of view that quickly grabbed my attention in the early pages, along with the police report and interview notes that provide yet another layer of textured perspective. Distinctly not Nordic Noir, the writing (and translation) is descriptive yet crisp in a way that promises to be a page-turner. I’m curious to find out how the characters are related and what they are each hiding to see how the plot escalates to a hopefully twisted ending. The cover is bland but does give a thriller/mystery vibe.
