What a different world

This was an interesting memoir, in that it covers a subgroup of a subgroup. That grouping is Army spouses, in this case exclusively wives. Because of confidential information maybe possibly unintentionally being released, that information being troop movements, the wives Simone became a part of were constantly reminded not to talk about their husband's jobs to anyone outside the wives.
At first Simone didn't want to be an Army wife. She fell in love with Andrew before she knew he wanted to enlist in the Army and become a special operator, an elite soldier. She had a different life planned, but, after some couples therapy, she agreed to a life where her husband was gone half the tome. When he wasn't deployed to the war zone, he was taking intensive training. Slowly, she realized he only way she was going to survive this world was to join with the other wives.
I have a little understanding of this world. I grew up as an Army dependent. There were rules and places you couldn't go all over the place. Even with that, I wouldn't have been any more prepared for her new world than Simone was. The book was very well written and presented its universe completely. I highly recommend the book.
I want to thank the publishers who gave me this book through a Shelf Awareness website contest. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
