The Wives by Simone Gorrindo gives the rest of us a look at what it is like to be married to someone in the military. The author has a pleasing style of writing that pulled me right in. She didn't hold back on the details.
I have more respect than ever for what these women go through. They are truly the wind beneath their husbands wings. We owe them thanks for their service too, for truly theirs is a life of sacrifice and service.
From the very low wages newly enlisted service people receive to the fear their families live with on a daily basis, this is a life unlike anything I personally know. Simone descriptions are at times difficult to read as she lets the reader know how hard it is to be married to someone who isn't home very much while raising a family and worrying about her spouse . She truly puts the reader in the thick of things.
