I love a book that draws me in not only with a compelling story and characters that bring that story to life, but one that also opens the doors to a new way of seeing and understanding a wold that I was not aware of before. Simply put, these are all aspects of Simone Gorrindo's story and style. Combining a vivid prose style that quickly drew me in and made me feel like close friend of the author's catching up with her over a cup of coffee, I was able to explore and share a world that is often limited from public view. With an honesty that is in terms inspiring in its creativity and thought provoking in its awareness, this book made me pause to consider what I would do or think in her place. What more can you ask from a memoir?
