The wives by Simone Gorrindo is a really interesting take on one woman's life journey as an army wife. Simone tells us about her relationship with Andrew from the very start. I could not believe when she revealed that he was willing to leave her if she would not accept him joining the military. It really was his life calling. The book shows you how all of these women from all over the country come together in these unique circumstances that other women would not be able to relate to. They understand each other without even having to talk. They all have the same fears and the same expectations. Simone explains her difficulties in dealing with anxiety and depression which is really important in a world where so many people just try to pretend that everything is always ok. Thank you bookish first for giving me this advanced readers copy. This is a four star read in my opinion and I do plan on recommending it to everyone who enjoys a good memoir.
