Simone must follow her new husband to Georgia after he decides to enlist in an elite unit of the Army. She is completely uprooted from her life in New York City and settles in Columbus, Georgia. Simone must figure out who she is in the world without her deployed husband, until she meets the wives.

I think this is such an eye opening book for people who may not understand the sacrifices the family that is left at home makes for their soldier. It is a lonely existence until they do a found family with each other. It definitely is a different kind of life, and I enjoyed Simone's writing. She also talks about how important therapy would be for anyone in that situation. I think the way she portrayed her feelings of being left behind is extremely important. I think that if I were to meet her in real life, we would be friends based on her views and values in life.
