I received a copy of The Wives from Bookish First. First, I love the title as well as the cover. I think the colors and font used are very eye-catching.
Sadly, I really tried to finish this book and couldn't. I tend to devour books in 2 -3 days and I just couldn't bring myself to finish The Wives.
I did like the writing style and found it easy to read as a writer. I appreciate the sacrifices Simone and her husband went through while he served. I just did not find the story interesting enough to get past 52 pages in 3 days.
I think if the book was shorter and photos of the area, etc were included it may have sparked my interest more. I am familiar with Georgia and had a boyfriend who served at Fort Benning so I was able to picture the setting.
I hate leaving this type of review for any writer. I am going to pass on my copy to a friend who may be more interested in it.
