To be honest here, I’ve never read a memoir before this one and I feel weird leaving a review on a memoir. I don’t want to judge someone’s life especially when they’ve been vulnerable enough to share the details with us readers. This story was beautifully written, I was drawn in completely very quickly. I loved hearing the ups and the downs the author went through because I’ve not gone through them. I am a mother so I can relate to motherly things but I don’t have any family in the military so I don’t know what that life completely entails, this was a learning experience for me to see inside the life. I do live very close to a major military base so a lot of friends are submerged in the military life but telling the stories of life in these situations and being the one living them is two very different things. I’ve found a new respect for not only our military members but also the ones they leave behind when they get deployed!
