This memoir was extremely written. I was initially not sure what I would think about it this memoir, because I am not familiar with anything to do with the military. However, Simone made me aware and made me care. The concept of the trials that military families go through have been on my mind before but I have never read someone’s perspective about it. I found myself breaking with Simone as she goes through all the changes her life takes as she follows her husband on his life dream. I do think the memoir was slow at parts and a bit repetitive, but at the same time Simone had such engrossing writing that those details made all the difference! I cannot wait to see what else Simone writes as this is her debut novel! I would definitely recommend you pick this up is you enjoy great writing, and a found family atmosphere. I also think this is a great memoir for someone not to familiar with the military as it is not heavy on terminology.
