My initial impression of The Wives is that it is a memoir that reads like fiction. The author has done a masterful job of transporting the reader into the scenes and highlighting the internal and external struggles. I appreciate how the author started with a pivotal moment in her life and then took a step back to illustrate how she arrived there and what was thinking and feeling at the time. I look forward to learning how her story unfolds.
