The Wife Between Us was an unexpected, surprisingly good read! Vanessa's story unfold throughout the book and just when the story/plot seemed to be clear cut, more information was divulged that led to a completely different conclusion. The last five pages was the most revealing when it came to the overarching plot and finally tied up the loose end from earlier on in the story. Vanessa's story was very disturbing at time and tragic but her inability to completely give into her fear was her most endearing quality. Emma was eerily similar to Vanessa in many ways but her age, innocence and naivete made her vulnerable and ultimately easily manipulated. Richard seemed like the perfect gentleman and husband but looks can be quite deceiving. After reading the description and the first half of the book, assumptions were formed. Some were right and many other were wrong! I received this ARC compliments of St. Martin's Press. This is a great book for fans of The Breakdown or Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris. Highly recommended!
