I was really excited about this book's release after reading the first look here on Bookish First, but it appears that I hyped myself up for no good reason.
In The Wife Between Us, there is your standard love triangle - the old wife, the husband, and the new wife. Nothing earth-shattering there, so I was relying on the plot to take me for a wild ride. I kept reading and waiting ...and reading and waiting...but it never happened. The suspense is crafted well but unfulfilling and the characters are cleverly introduced but underdeveloped. There was one cute twist early on but the story just falls flat after that.
It was an easy read and I really wanted to love this book. But unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations.
