I really enjoyed this book. It drew me in right away and confused me so many times. I really thought I was following the plot line, I actually thought that I was smart enough to figure out what was really going on. Ha! Not even close.

I didn’t really like Gone Girl and I hated The Girl on the Train so I was nervous how I would feel about a book many have compared them. There were elements of similarity between the books but this truly was a book all its own. I was afraid this book would be dark and have that creepy feeling I got when reading both those books but it really wasn’t. I also felt this was more realistic and the characters weren’t annoying people who I really didn’t give a crap about, ahem, The Girl on the Train. I am so glad I decided to give this book a chance. Looking at the other reviews of this book, others apparently agree.

This is the perfect kind of psychological thriller for me. The twists and turns kept me turning page after page. The twists were perfect and didn’t feel forced. I was surprised by the turns, yet they made sense when you looked back. I had to reread the beginning because I felt that I must have missed something. This is a book I feel that I will have to reread to pick up all the clues that were left behind that I overlooked. This will probably be one of those books that you understand more of it each time you read it, which means I will have to read this at least a few more times!

Oh and the ending is fabulous, totally surprising, but great. It didn’t make me want to beat my head against the wall like Gone Girl’s ending did!

I am extremely glad I took a chance on this book and I would recommend others to do the same.
