Wowsa!
This story is told in alternating viewpoints of Vanessa (after her divorce) and Nellie (leading up to her wedding day). The common bond here is Richard, who is just the perfect guy - handsome, wealthy, doting, attentive, loving.... Right off the bat you find that Vanessa has some issues and is responsible for ultimately destroying her marriage to Richard. After the divorce, she moved in with her aunt and is barely able to keep her job in a retail store. From Nellie's angle, you wonder how on Earth any woman could let Richard go. Nellie is a quirky and likable character. She's quirky to the point where she often thanks her lucky stars that she has a man like Richard. Nellie has some demons from her past and coincidentally starts receiving creepy phone calls once she starts seeing Richard. The reader likely feels as though it's Vanessa, but is Richard all that he seems?
The Wife Between Us had some great twists and turns that I didn't see coming. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who likes a good psychological thriller.
