From the moment I saw the cover, I wanted to read The Wife Between Us. Even the name of the book attracted me to it.
I was surprised of how much I was pulled toward the life of this two women in just the first few chapters.
From the prologue, you can tell, things are not going to be easy for the new couple. It made me wonder how much damage did Richard do to his first wife. What pushed her to the bottle? What happened during her time as his wife. Why did she think she was not a good wife?
Then, there is the mystery surrounding the new "replacement". She's hiding her past and it doesn't seem like Richard has a clue of what happened to her.
The writing is engrossing. It was easy to lose myself into the narrative. When I finished the excerpt, I was disappointed I couldn't continue.
