I love stories I can’t solve in the first chapter!

This was an engaging read. I began trying to unravel whether the wife is crazy and the new bride a victim and as the book unfolds, we learn all is not what it seems. You might prefer one of the characters over the other initially, but you just might change your mind about half way through. The author structures the view into the characters in a layered way so that you are gradually revising your view of their role in the relationship with the man of the story. I wouldn't describe this as super dark or even twisty, but it was suspenseful and very enjoyable. The author does a great job connecting you to the characters and telling their stories in an engaging way. It was a story I couldn’t put down even though at times I was angry with the characters.
