I was captured immediately and swept into the intrigue that lurks within the first 4 chapters. I hate not knowing the rest of this story. I thought in the beginning I would find one character to love and one to hate given the suggestions of what this story was about. But I found I loved both main characters. I want to be excited for Nellie and her romance and upcoming wedding. But as I got to know Vanessa I began to worry about Nellie. There is something deep and foreboding alluded to in these first few chapters and I have to find out what it is. Great writing - descriptive but succinct. The characters are beautifully developed and you know so much about them in just a few chapters - but then again, not nearly enough. I'm going to love the rest of this book, I just know it.
