Based on the synopsis, you are told not to assume a thing about Emma, the fiancé and Vanessa, the ex-wife. So I went in not assuming, but I still assumed everything about Vanessa. Vanessa’s ex-hubby Richard is getting remarried. Vanessa works up a scheme in hopes to prevent that wedding day from happening. Told in past and present tenses, Vanessa and Richards marriage is broken down and the events leading up to their divorce. Although, I liked this one - I also spent most of my time confused TBH.. Vanessa’s past and present stories just confused the heck out of me - which might’ve been intentional. I didn’t quite enjoy Vanessa’s past storyline in Florida because I didn’t understand the “Maggie” backstory; it all comes to fruition though. I also have so many questions about Richard, Maureen (hubby’s sister), and Duke (family pet) - I’ll leave it at that. I highly recommend to anyone who loves domestic thrillers and page turners. Once you get to that ‘Epilogue' though, you’ll thank me - like seriously!
