Sometimes, it can be rewarding to be misled. Often, most twists in thrillers are predictable. The Wife Between Us breaks this mold and leads us down a path that I truly didn't expect. Alternating between the past and the present, we never truly know who our narrator is until well after the mid-point of the narrative. Relying heavily on the frazzled and often inebriated female trope, this was the only let down in an otherwise empowering and bold take on the traditional love triangle. Even when they're plotting on how to get back at their cheating husband (and ex-husband), seeing women work together, instead of against each other, is still too rare in the mystery and thriller sphere. At the end of the day, this was an enthralling read that kept me hooked from the first line to the last period. If you're looking for something that will get you out of a reading slump and keeping your heart racing, this is it!
