It starts shortly after the sudden and unexpected death of Tom Kennedy’s wife, leaving him to raise his son by himself. Hoping to have a fresh start away from the painful memories of their past, Tom moves the small family to Featherbank, just as a long dormant killer begins abducting young boys in the area again. Tom and his son, Jake, face their internal struggles of loss while trying to evade the monster prowling the town. Just how far is Tom willing to go to protect his son?
North does a great job developing the characters’ relationships and back stories. He also weaves the chilling supernatural into everyday conflicts such as parenthood, relationships, and love. This book will leave you thinking long after you’ve finished it. Highly recommend!
