Words cannot describe how much I love The Whisper Man by Alex North. This story is simply fantastic. It's a creepy, bone chilling read that has so many layers and so many twists and turns. The riddle alone sends chills down my spines.

From the very first page, I was locked in. The Whisper Man starts with a letter that previews what will happen in Featherbank (no spoilers). There is mention of a Mister Night. The boy in the floor. Butterflies. The girl in the strange dress. And of course, the Whisper Man.

Told thru various layers, The Whisper Man follows several stories at once - beginning with a serial killer stalking a neglected boy name Neil Spencer. It then flashes to a seasoned detective who feels the abduction of Neil is eerily similar to one that catapulted and haunted his career 20 plus years ago.

However, what really drew me in is the story of a recently widowed man, Tom and his sixth sense son, Jake. Their story is so sad and heart breaking. Yet, it is Tom and Jake whose story is the most frightening and disturbing. I will not spoil this for you but there are a few scenes with Jake and his sixth sense that disturbs and haunts me today.

Recommendation: Perfection. A Must Read.
