After his wife passes away suddenly and unexpectedly, Tom moves himself and his young son Jake to the town of Featherbank, hoping for a fresh start. What Tom didn't know was that Featherbank has a dark past; twenty years prior to their move, a serial killer kidnapped and murder five young boys. The Whisper Man, the name given to Frank Carter before he was caught, would stand outside the young boys windows at night and whisper to lure them out.

Shortly after Tom and Jake get settled into their new home, a boy goes missing while walking home from school. The disappearance bears a striking resemblance to The Whisper Man crimes, which stirs up old thoughts that Frank Carter always had an accomplice. The situation seems startling enough but then Jake wakes Tom up in the middle of the night claiming he hears whispering outside his bedroom window.....

This book was fantastic. I'm all about a twist and this book has several. Throughout my reading I had so many ideas on who or what could be snatching the children, if Frank Carter was actually involved, if he really did have an accomplice who was sitting in waiting all these years. Could Jake be crazy?? The Whisper Man had so many moving parts-imaginary friends, mysteries in a new home, ghosts...I couldn't get the pages turned fast enough. I highly recommend this book and I'm very excited to see what Alex North thinks up next!
