The Whisper Man was one of my most anticipated books of the summer. I honestly think that I entered every giveaway I saw for it, hoping that I would finally get my hands on a copy.

Serial killers are one of my favorite book topics, so a story from a unique angle of a serial killer reborn or serial killer copy cat, had me so intrigued. The synopsis of The Whisper Man reminded me of the scary stories you hear as a kid becoming reality

I hyped myself up so much for this book. The problem for me was that I found nothing to be necessarily creepy or scary about this book. Maybe it takes a little more for me to be scared by something, but this story was missing that eerie, check under your bed at night component. There was one moment in the last two pages that things came a little full circle and gave me an ah-ha moment which I loved. This book had a great ending. Alex North is a great story teller, his writing is so easy to follow and get lost in, and for a debut novel this was an amazing start, I just needed to be scared to push it to a 5.
