Good, but over-hyped
When I first read the synopsis for this book, I instantly thought that The Whisper Man would be one of my top reads of 2019. Especially when it was chosen as a Book of the Month selection, and when I couldn’t scroll through Instagram without seeing countless posts singing its praises.
What worked for me in this book was the general plot idea, and the writing style. That being said, I was highly disappointed by the lack of thrill- being lauded as a thriller, I felt that the book was way too chill and didn’t have me turning pages- let’s just say it didn’t keep me up late into the night reading.
I will check out future books by the author, but for me, The Whisper Man just didn’t meet my expectations.
