A really good thriller about a serial killer on the loose in a small town. I liked the main character, Tom Kennedy. He's a recently single dad trying his best with a young son he doesn't quite understand. His doubts about the effectiveness of his parenting make him more relatable. Their relationship is also complicated by the fact that Jake has an imaginary friend that he likes to talk to. The doubt the reader feels about the nature of the imaginary friend adds more tension to the mix.

There were a couple of interesting twists that I did not see coming. Even though everyone appears non related, there are strange connections between some of the characters. Everything felt believable and I didn't feel like anything was forced. The book was interesting and towards the end I couldn't put it down. I liked the ending. Both the main ending and the little epilogue.
