This was a fantastically creepy thriller that grabbed me from the first sentence with the disappearance of Neil and carried me through the very end with nary a dull moment!

The Whisper Man mostly follows Jake and Tom Kennedy as they move into their new house, a house with a history they did not know about. Twenty years ago, an evil man that was given the name The Whisper Man, due to his way of whispering through the window to a child before taking him was captured, but not before leaving a dark legacy that someone else has followed. There is just a touch of the supernatural in this book but it is only the icing on this creepy cake that shows that the evils of man can be enough to give you the chills.

This was a great story and I must admit that after reading it, I made sure that my door was locked tight! I think the creepiest part is the rhyme that the kids all have heard in the story:

If you leave a door half open,
Soon you'll hear the whispers spoken.

If you play outside alone,
Soon you won't be going home.

If you're lonely, sad, and blue,
The Whisper Man will come for you!
