The Whisper Man is a fantastic thriller, that kept me on the edge of my seat and kept all the lights on at night. The hype for this book is real, so of course I had to get my hands on it and I’m glad I did.

I love a book told from different points of view from different characters and for North to do that in this just made the story that much more intriguing. I loved the character development and the plot twists that made my head spin. I cared a lot for the characters and became attached quickly, not only with Tom and his son Jake, but Pete the detective as well.

This follows the story of the Whisper Man who 20 years ago kidnapped and then murdered five little boys. He would lure them out of their houses at night by whispering their names. Creepy right? Tom and his son Jake move to a new town called Featherbank, which just so happens to be the same town that these murders took place in. It seems as though the Whisper Man is back because a little boy goes missing again. Pete the detective that was on the missing boys case 20 years ago, is brought back in to help with this case and to see if they are connected. The killer was found and put in jail years ago, so who is the culprit now? This story weaves a terrifying tale that interconnects throughout the whole story and will have you jumping at the slightest sounds you hear.

I only gave this four stars because I was expecting an action-packed thriller, but it had so much build up and so little action except at the end. I still loved this book and was amazed at how creepy and great it was. I just wanted more action and I feel a little let down by the ending, because everything happened so fast and then boom the end. Other than that, a fabulous read if you’re looking for a thriller that will have your body covered in goosebumps.
