This crime thriller is a mix of Steven King and Alex Michaelides and extended episodes of Criminal Minds. I was captured from the start as we are introduced to the crime that took place long ago. The Whisper Man kidnapped and murders 5 boys from a small town. He is apprehended and locked away where he currently resides. But, another boy goes missing in the same fashion as the crimes of old.
We follow multiple characters in the book. A father and son who recently move to this small town, unaware of its eerie past. We also follow a police officer who captured the Whisper Man long ago, but is now thrust into this case as well. We also get personal insight from the Whisper Man as he is revealed more and more throughout the novel.
