Let me start off by saying THANK GOODNESS I do not have a mail slot because I would LITERALLY be selling my house right now. No, a new door wouldn’t even cut it. That is how freaked out I am! ⁣

Sure, there were elements of creepiness in this story... weird butterflies, imaginary friends, old creaky houses, and a terrifying lullaby that I can’t get out of my head. But what really stuck out for me was the actual story! ⁣

Twenty years ago, Frank Carter, nicknamed The Whisper Man, kidnapped and murdered 5 young boys. At night, he would whisper at the boys’ windows to lure them out. While Frank is rotting away in jail, another little boy is abducted. His parents mention to the police that he said he heard someone whispering at his window. A pursuit for a kidnapper ensues. Is it a copycat of The Whisper Man or maybe an accomplice? Pete, the cop who caught Frank Carter, is on the case again. Will they find the missing boy? Or will he turn up dead? And who will be next? You won’t be disappointed by what’s in store for you! ⁣

I had read a bunch of reviews that said that people were let down by the book because it wasn’t that creepy. I happen to think there was the perfect level of creepiness. Just enough to give you chills here and there, but not too much to take away from a really solid, enjoyable police-procedural. ⁣
