The author, Alex North, has a way of getting you to the edge of your seat and keeping you there. As I made my way through this compelling story I found it hard to let my guard down, if at all.

It is one of those kinds of books that will keep your mind racing, trying to figure things out. Such as the identity of the person doing this horrific acts, why do they do behave this way, what events in their own life caused them to take this path instead of trying to become something different.

For me, it pulled a couple of heart strings because you really watch how a character goes from having so many different struggles, doubting himself, and seeing how he becomes stronger. However, it also reminded me of something that I myself wasn't able to accomplish.

"As though a missing piece of him had finally been returned." I believe, personally, that perhaps this line itself helps to bring the characters and story together. And that maybe gives the reader a way to have a stronger connection to the characters.

There were a lot of ups and downs throughout the book. The biggest problem that I had with this story was that some of the chapters seemed to drag from time to time. But as stated before, it does have a way of keeping you on the edge of your seat and keeps you guessing. If you're looking for a book that really keeps your mind going, then I definitely suggest grabbing a copy of this book and give it a chance.
