Tom Kennedy lost his wife a year ago. He and his son Jake need a fresh start so they move to the small town of Featherbank. It's peaceful here. It's nice. But something sinister is here too. Twenty years ago five boys were murdered by The Whisper Man. Recently another boy has gone missing. Soon Tom finds his son talking to invisible people, and that he's hearing whispers...

I absolutely love The Whisper Man. The plot is exciting, the characters are well fleshed out and believable. The multiple perspectives are fantastic. The pacing was perfect; I was constantly on the edge of my seat wanting to know what would happen next. There were some twists that I didn't see coming, but looking back it makes total sense. I also liked just the touch of magical realism.

I didn't know that I liked books like this until I read I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga, and The Whisper Man reminds me very much of that book. There are some obvious parallels, and while that book takes one path, this goes down the other. I really did absolutely love The Whisper Man. I'll definitely be recommending it to anyone looking for a new thriller.
