Wow, this was such a creepy book! This was the first time when I honestly felt just chills running down my arms while reading a mystery/thriller. Maybe it was because of the fact that there was this creepy man lurking outside a little boy's window and whispering to him or the fact that there are little kids involved but whatever the reason, this book gave me all the chills! So if you're looking for that best creepy halloween thriller/mystery novel then look no further!

One of my favorite part about this book were the characters and their relationships with each other especially between Tom and his son, Jake. I loved the fact that this book included both of their POVs because it showed both of their struggles with trying to connect with each other after they lost their mom/wife. Jake's POV was especially innocent and his POV probably made this book even creepier simply because of his perspective.

I also loved that this book slowly introduced and revealed elements that made the book so much more dynamic specifically Tom's own past. When that was revealed, I was very surprised and it made the book so much more intriguing.

And then in terms of the culprit, I never once guessed who it was but the reason I ultimately took a star from my rating was because I did feel that the book did the whole "you will never guess who the real culprit is because this person barely showed up". I hate it when books do that because there is literally very little chance for the reader to guess that he or she is the person behind everything. However, other than that, I really enjoyed the journey and the suspense.

Overall, like I said, if you're looking for a perfect fall vibe mystery book, then I definitely recommend this one.
