Because a young boy disappears at the same time that Tom and his son, Jake, move to the town, some become suspicious of Tom, believing that he has something to do with the disappearance and perhaps had some kind of relationship with the killer of twenty years ago. Perhaps the parent of the missing boy believes this, copies the original Whisper Man, and taunts Tom, threatening to harm Jake. My impression of what might be the plot.
