This book had my attention on the very first page. The letter to Jake from his father at the end when he states that he’s always told the boy there were no monsters and then finishes by stating “I’m sorry, I lied” tells the reader that there is definitely something evil getting ready to happen in this book. Then a little boy is abducted by someone whispering his name. Flashbacks to an old case come back to haunt the police department.

From the very start this book already is a book you are not going to want to put down because you have to know what happened. Ending where it did leaves you needing to read more.

The cover definitely fits the book because within the first several pages you can tell where the picture came from.
