I enjoy crime fiction so I was excited about this novel but the excerpt felt flat. It felt like a paint by number novel with no emotion. We are introduced to a lot of characters but had no reason to care about anyone, except of course for the missing boy who is briefly seen. I have no interest in finding out where it is going.
