Draws you in and immediately has you questioning reality
There is something unnerving about children and their connection to the spiritual realm. I love how this story is set up with having a supernatural element to it alongside a horrific crime element. It allows for the ability to question what is real versus what is not.
So far, I am drawn in by the complexity of the characters and their relationships. I would feel frustrated being unable to connect to my child after the death of my spouse as well, so I think what Tom is feeling and how he responds to Jake is totally normal.
As a lover of true crime, I also love the concept of an old case possibly resurfacing or a copy cat coming to life. This cover is also harrowing yet cool. I am all about this novel and cannot wait to get my hands on this!
