This book promises to be a thrilling and dark read. With sympathetic characters, like the single father struggling to relate to his small son Jake, the twists in the story are set from the beginning. They need to move away from the home where Jake’s mom was found dead, so they move to a small town where Jake will supposedly be safe. But, they don’t know that a young boy has just been reported missing in this town. They don’t know that there is someone named Frank who is called “The Whisper Man.” They don’t know any of this, but the reader does. And so we are drawn into a compelling story of a town with evil possibly residing there and an innocent young boy moving there in order to make a new start to his sad life. Even the DI who is called into the investigation is presented as a sympathetic character, a man who is fifty-six years old now and who already dealt with “The Whisper Man” two decades earlier. The scene is set for a magnificently good book with lots of mystery and chills to come!
