If you want to read a great romance novel, this is the book for you.

This follows Drew and Alexa, who have the ultimate meet-cute story: they get stuck together in an elevator. Yup. Drew is going to a wedding, but not just any wedding. His friend is marrying his ex-girlfriend so he needs to show up with someone. So he asks Alexa to be his fake date.

Any book set up on the fake dating trope is bound to succeed, and this was no different. What I really loved about this novel is how real it was. Drew and Alexa have actual, real people problems. Their difficulties are something any couple can face, and I loved that.
Moreover, Drew is white and Alexa is black, and Jasmine Guillory handles that dynamic so well. Drew has to check his privilege all the time, and it was so nice to see that on paper.
Their chemistry was so well written and I was really invested in their relationship. Plus, this has no explicit sex scenes so if those are not your jam, you can still enjoy and love this novel.

Highly recommend this one, if you want to read a diverse novel with amazing characters!
