This book is so much fun. I read The Proposal first, which is out of order, but I still enjoyed getting to know these characters better. Jasmine Guillory writes characters who are believably witty and idealistic. I enjoyed following this journey from an unusual meet-cute in a stuck elevator to a fake wedding date to a real relationship. If you want to read about lots of great food and romance, this is the book (and series) for you. It's a quick but memorably fun read - definitely a binge-worthy series if you are looking for something light with a lot of heart. I love Guillory's focus on taking seriously the passions and joys of Black women, as well as her ability to create men in their lives who support but don't complete them.
