After getting trapped in an elevator together, Drew asks Alexa to be his date to a wedding. They have to pretend they’re dating for a whole weekend, without raising suspision. It turns out, these two like each others company. After going between San Fran and LA every other weekend, these two aren’t sure what they are or what they’ll become. Will Drew’s fear of commitment overpower their connection?

This novel was my second exposure to Jasmine Guillory. I had previously read The Proposal, which technically takes place after this book, but is ok to read out of order. I love Guillory’s meet cute’s she includes in books, and the way she develops her characters. You can really see how these two are falling for each other, you actually can almost feel it.

The plot is semi-believable, you really could meet someone when stuck in an elevator together. But for us hopeless romantics, it’s just a reminder that love could be anywhere. The Wedding Date receives 4.5 out of 5 stars from me!

I cannot wait for Guillory’s newest novels – The Wedding Party and Royal Holiday. If you haven’t yet read The Proposal, I highly recommend you put that on your “To Be Read” list.
