I've actually read this book 2x since it was published last year. This is one those books that just makes you happy.
This book is fast paced sexy and it has a lot of heart.
It is refreshing to read a novel which features a black professional(she works for the mayor) who isn't a size zero and who isn't a sad loser.
To often books written by or featuring black women are misery porn. The black protagonist is a strong black woman who doesn't need a man and who has some tragic back story that she spends the entire book trying to overcome.
The Wedding Date is a Hallmark Channel style romantic comedy ( with sex).
Agreeing to go to a wedding with a guy she gets stuck in an elevator with is something Alexa Monroe wouldn't normally do. But there's just something about Drew Nichols.
From the best mans toast to the bouquet toss, Alexa and Drew have more fun than they thought possible. And before they knew they find themselves flying back and forth to see each other and despite the best of intentions falling in love.
