My overwhelming response to this book about two unlikely people finding love on an elevator was one of complete relief that I am not single and dating because I am sure this is a very realistic presentation of how hard it is to meet and get to know someone. Oh, and a craving for donuts and tacos! Both Alexa and Drew are getting settled in their respective careers and initially think they will be "dating" for the weekend of his ex-girlfriend's wedding. But that isn't what happens in this communication troubled love story where they each continue to make assumptions and struggle figuring out what the other wants. I felt Ms. Guillory tried to add more depth to the story with the introduction of the interracial element, Alexa's job and art project program for troubled teens, and Drew's interaction with some of his young pediatric patients. But the book was basically a romance beset by the common problem of not wanting to be open and honest for fear of being hurt. Definitely an enjoyable read.
