I’m a sucker for romance, and a sucker for books that value diversity. I picked this book up on a whim while browsing the library, and I noticed it. The color of the book stood out to me, along with the title, and the description, which made the book even more promising. I took the book back to a table, and dived in, flying through the first 20 pages in little time. But what it promised it didn’t deliver. The characters were one dimensional, the writing very generic, and the plot wasn’t exciting. I distinctly remember the disappointment I had. Maybe the book wasn’t right for me- I was only 14 when I picked up this book, with no romantic experience prior to that. Overall, based on what I’ve read of the book, I didn’t really like it, but I’d be willing to give it a second chance. I also remember feeling sick when I read the book, so that might’ve influenced how I felt about it.
