I started in Jasmine Guillory's world with The Proposal, and was absolutely thrilled when I found out that the Wedding Date is set in the same friend group, and is set about a year before The Proposal. I made a special trip to the bookstore to acquire this book and then blazed through it in a day. A fun rom-com of a book, with moments of real-world social awareness. Alexa is an intelligent, driven, and well-developed protagonist, as is Drew. There are no idiotic or particularly flaky best friends, in a nice divergence from rom-com tradition. I strongly recommend this book for a day when you just need to curl up with a fun story. I look forward to the third novel set in this world, scheduled to release in Spring 2019.
