Although this is not a typical genre or book that I would read I did enjoy the experience, characters and the writing of this story. The thought of a fake date to a wedding is super funny. But we all have either been there with the though of doing this or have had the pressure from friends and family to be dating or bring someone special to an event such as a wedding. Alexa meets Drew in an elevator when the power goes out. They get to talking and Drew somehow convinces Alexa to be his plus one to an upcoming wedding. This isn't any ordinary wedding, but the wedding of an ex, so of course he does not want to go to the event alone. This story is really funny, a bit corny, and very relatable to modern day social situations.
