Cute, but a little predictable.

I was excited to give The Wedding Date a whirl - the premise was cute, like something out of a lifetime movie, and the promise of a POC main character was great! But after the initial few chapters it fell into the predictable pattern of most romances - there's physical attraction, the characters don't know if the other feels the same way... there's a sexytime weekend, then a separation and the requisite hashing out of said sexytime weekend with the best friends and co-workers... then come the misunderstandings... and you know. There just wasn't much depth of originality. Maybe that's what some readers might want out of a cute romance, but it just wasn't for me. Very nice cover design, but as we know, you can't judge a book by it's cover.
