3.5 stars for this Meet Cute romcom where the leading lady is not just another blond white girl. I loved the diversity featured in this romantic comedy and that it brought along other topics and dimensions into the romance including body image, interracial dating and stereotypes.
It does have some graphic/steamy sex scenes but it is primarily about the main characters, Drew and Alex, making a relationship out of what was probably assumed to be a weekend fling. We see them sort through both having high demanding careers, a long distance relationship and the challenges of racial dynamics.
This is a cute start to the series that Guillory continues to write. If you're a fan of feel good romantic comedies but also enjoy representation, this is for you.
