At first I thought "same old meet in an elevator story" but this one takes a nice twist when the wedding date situation pops up. I like the dry humor in this opening segment and there's just enough mystery in the personalities and their situations to want to keep me reading. I like the subtle way the author introduces what I assume to be the ethnic difference between the two.
