Right off the bat, there is a lightness and humor to The Wedding Date. I am not usually a reader of romantic fiction, but this is the kind of book that I would choose from the genre. Although the situation between Alexa Monroe and Drew Nichols is not likely to happen, the feelings of insecurity are definitely realistic. The only thing that prevents me from giving this book the highest marks is the repetitive mention of race. Personal qualities, such as sense of humor and intelligence, are what will make the character of Alexa sing and not the color of her skin. It seems like the author wanted to make a point about their unlikely coupling, but I do not think that is strictly necessary. That being said, I am looking forward to the book's release, as I am definitely interested in finding out the ending.
