The book starts out by introducing Ava, who lives a very rigid and orderly life, which we know will soon be challenged by changes at work and new relationships forming. She reminds me both of Eleanor Oliphont, and of Linus at the beginning of House in the Cerulean Sea. I always love a story involving a lonely protagonist, who uses order and routine as a means of coping with a traumatic past, and seeing them come back out of their shell and embrace the messiness and joy of life and human interaction! This promises to be witty, wry, and heartwarming, and I look forward to seeing where Ava's journey will take her.
